Your Role as a Product Manager or Associate Product Manager

Caliber Engineering Solutions is seeking a curious, driven, and detail-oriented Product Manager or Associate Product Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will own the development and continuous improvement of the internal software tools and systems that power how our teams operate — from project tracking and financial reporting to workflow automation and data visibility. You will work closely with engineering, finance, and operations stakeholders to translate real business needs into well-defined product solutions that make our people more effective.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and operations, communicates with clarity across technical and non-technical audiences, and is excited to help build product function from the ground up in a fast-moving, mission-driven organization.

Note: The final title — Associate Product Manager or Product Manager — as well as the compensation offered, will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the internal product roadmap — prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, stakeholder input, and operational need across engineering, finance, and project management functions.
  • Serve as the bridge between end users and technical resources — gathering requirements, defining user stories, and ensuring solutions solve the right problems.
  • Lead product discovery efforts by conducting stakeholder interviews, observing workflows, and identifying friction points in existing tools and processes.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from ideation through launch and iteration — maintaining clear documentation, timelines, and communication throughout.
  • Define and track success metrics for internal tools, using data to evaluate performance and guide future improvements.
  • Coordinate across departments to align priorities, manage competing requests, and maintain a clear, transparent backlog.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline internal processes through better tooling, automation, or workflow redesign.
  • Continuously improve how the product function operates — building repeatable processes, templates, and feedback loops as the team scales.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Brings hands-on experience — or demonstrated aptitude — for managing software products or internal tools, ideally in a technical, infrastructure, or operations-heavy environment.
  • Is highly organized and process-minded, with a strong ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize ruthlessly, and keep multiple workstreams moving simultaneously.
  • Communicates product concepts clearly and confidently to diverse audiences — from field project managers to engineering leads to executive leadership.
  • Approaches problems with curiosity and a bias toward action — digging into root causes, proposing solutions, and following through on execution.
  • Carries a genuine growth mindset: eager to learn the business, improve their craft, and build something meaningful over time.
Thrives in a dynamic, startup environment where roles are broad, ownership is real, and contributions are visible.
  • Has experience using Product Management tools, and AI tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–5 years of experience in product management, business analysis, or a related role; experience with internal tools or enterprise software is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements, write user stories, and manage a product backlog.
  • Proficiency with project and product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana, or similar).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, project accounting platforms, engineering/field operations tools, or Airtable is a strong plus.
  • Experience working in utilities, engineering, construction, or energy infrastructure sectors is preferred but not required.

Compensation

The anticipated total compensation range for this position is $65,000 – $135,000  annually. The title and final compensation will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, and qualifications.
