Your key responsibilities would include

  • Overseeing projects from initiation to close-out, including planning, environmental assessments, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction management, and final delivery. 
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with all stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, and external parties, ensuring alignment and adherence to project deliverable timelines. 
  • Owning project execution, ensuring that they remain on schedule, within scope, and on budget while maintaining high-quality standards. 
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, demonstrating professionalism, and promptly addressing client issues or concerns. 
  •  Coordinate project design with quality and productivity to ensure installation and operations will comply with the specifications, codes, and client requirements.  
  • Conducting regular project reviews with stakeholders, highlighting progress, issues, and mitigation strategies. 
  • Coordinating and prioritizing multiple tasks and projects, ensuring timely actions and successful project delivery. 
  • Negotiating changes, additions, and revisions to contracts with clients and sub-consultants, facilitating smooth project transitions. 
  • Identifying risks and opportunities proactively, resolving issues and optimizing project outcomes. 
  • Having a mindset open to learning, growing, and staying updated with industry best practices and innovations.  
  • Prepare and review proposals, contracts, and cost estimates prior to submitting them to clients. 

As an ideal candidate would (be/have)

  • A strong background in project management, preferably within the utility or power distribution industries or similar sectors. 
  • Skilled at structuring projects, identifying key milestones and risks, and tracking project progress.  
  • Possess a growth mindset, constantly seeking ways to improve processes and contribute to company success. 
  • Exhibit exceptional client-facing skills, with a proven ability to build and sustain strong client relationships, effectively manage client expectations, and address concerns or issues promptly and professionally. 
  • Demonstrate superior time management and prioritization abilities, with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously, setting clear priorities, and ensuring timely and successful project delivery amidst competing demands and deadlines. 
  • Excel in both written and verbal communication, comfortable interacting with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Adaptable, organized, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. 

Your qualifications would include 

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field;  
  • Experience in project management within the utilities or power distribution sector.  
  • Experience managing multiple high budget/large-scale projects simultaneously, demonstrating excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.  
  • Comfortability in developing comprehensive project plans that include schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. 
  • Advanced to expert proficiency in project management software.  
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.  

Preferred experience would be 

  • Background in ComEd, utility industry, or power distribution is highly desirable.  
  • Relevant advanced degree and/or certifications like Project Management Professional (PMP). 
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards in the utility sector.
